my nephew, my heart strings

Owen in the Tupperware

My sister makes such a pretty, happy, smart baby. And though I love him with something fierce, sometimes I wish I had never met such a fantastic kid. Because if one day my own babies are not as pretty, happy or smart, I WILL KNOW BETTER. And things will be a little awkward around the house.

So cute!!!!!

And I totally understand that concern, as I have similar ones. But I'm sure you'll be amazed how much you love your own baby and won't even compare it to your nephew.

I totally understand your dilemma. My sister has two of the most perfect little boys in the world (not the annoying never get into trouble kind of perfect, the really smart, slightly onery, super sweet kind of perfect). I love them more than words can say.

:) Ahhhh yes, the pulling of the heart strings!

Adorable!

Fear not, Fish. Your babies will be beyond amazing!

My cousin/Goddaughter will turn 10yrs next Wedenesday. I still can't believe it. (So much denial on my part.) However, watching her grow has been a major highlight in my life! I wouldn't trade one memory!

What a little cutie he is! And I know what you mean! My sister and I are both pregnant right now with our first babies (I'm eight weeks ahead). The good news is that she's a red head so I'm sure the babies will look pretty different, and I'm sure they'll both be cute. I know they will definitely both be loved. :)

That will never happen. No matter how much you love and adore a niece, nephew, godchild, whatever - and that love can be HUGE - it doesn't hold a candle to what you will feel for your own little one when he or she arrives.

So, this is terrible, but one of my fears about having children is what if I have a kid I don't really like? Obviously, I'll love the child, but what if he/she grows up to be kind of a dick? I don't think parents have total control over that type of thing. Anyway, it's not a likely scenario, but one that's occured to me before. Your nephew is SUPER CUTE.

ADORABLE!! How can you resist the cuteness? And that little Buddha belly? Just ASKING for a zerbit!!! :) Enjoy!! (Although I hear that babies don't keep well in cupboards!) ;)

He is a cutie!!!!

I love how your sister already has him doing odd jobs around the house- she is smart, do you how much of a pain in the neck (literally) it is to do plumbing in those tight spots under the sink?

How CUTE!!!!!!!
(And don't worry: yours will be AT LEAST as smart, cute, fun, etc.!)

There is no child that compares to your own. That is until the grandchild is born. Trust me. Ask your mother.

I'm (gasp) really not a fan of babies at all...(and yes I'm a woman)but that is one cute baby. I must say.

Yes, that baby is really cute! Don't you worry you'll have a baby as cute as your nephew because you're also beautiful. Have a good time, for now!

OMG! I could definately see where a baby this awesomely cute could make one wonder if hers was ever going to be even nearly as adorable, but trust me, spending time with your own kids will make you feel like you managed to do the most amazing thing in the world by bringing them into it!

That is the cutest baby I have seen in a long time - you are not biased!

(And, I always used to worry about having kids that were ugly or stupid or whatever else; maybe it'll still happen, but somehow I have a feeling I'm going to think they're great no matter what. Proof: My cat that bites and scratches everyone and everything - I still think she's absolutely perfect...)

My nephew turned four this week - it goes by so fast but watching him grow is amazing! Being an aunt is the best of both worlds I think. Your nephew is adorable.

What an adorable baby, but I must admit, he doesn't hold a candle to my niece...

I've waivered back and forth over wanting my own, but the fear of not being able to love them as much as I love her terrifies me.

Everyone keeps telling me that when you have your own, they'll be the best thing that ever graced your presence. Then again, they also say when you meet the one, you'll know. Until that day happens... :-)

He IS flippin adorable though!

Doesn't seem so smart to me... getting himself stuck in a cabinet like that. You should have shut the door on him. See how smart he is then!
Though he does have that cute thing down to a science.

I know! I SO just said the same thing to my mom a couple of weeks ago about my niece. I told my brother he'd screwed us all over-- she's the cutest thing alive... my kids better be extraordinarily adorable or grandma won't be impressed!

PS. That kid IS pretty cute. I was like, OHHHHhhhh now I really see what she was writing about this whole time!

So cute! He looks like trouble.

Never fear, you will have no trouble loving your little one as much if not more than your nephew. It is a totally different type of love. Trust me!

Not to worry, plus with as gorgeous as you are.... your little ones are bound to be absolutely beeautiful! :D

One word! "Cute" he could model a baby products

Same thing happened to me 27 years ago. I adored my niece in the wildest way. But when my kids were born 21 and 18 years ago, it didn't have any bad effects. I still adored her, but they were MY kids. Our hormones and thousands (millions) of years of evolution do their job.
You'd adore your kid even if (s)he looked like Homer Simpson

Hahaha. He'll love these pics.

I LOOOOVE babies. My nephews are my scrumptious love bugs and my nieces are my wittle ladybugs (the red ones...the brown ladybugs aren't as cute).
