i can has job!

Give me a few hours to unscatter my brain, iron some clothes and run to Target to buy an alarm clock (I start at 8AM tomorrow!), but the short of it is, the Internet is a marvelous place and because of it, I will not have to resort to selling my body on the streets of Dallas. An idea, which when I suggested might be a viable though desperate option, my sister said,

"No, Heather. Something where you can MAKE money."

Mmm hmm. Very funny.

Hey Heather! That's great, congratulations and all that stuff. You will have to tell us all about it, but tonight, get that alarm clock and pick out something nice, 'cause you're gonna need it bright and early tomorrow.

Wahoooey!

Now, splurge on an extra special alarm clock that will magically change time to daylight saving time for you. You'll thank me in six months.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!

You should wear your perfectly creased black pants and drive to work listening to Dolly Parton's "9 to 5." I know, Dolly Parton, but that song can get in your head!

Congrats! Try to learn some tricks tonight so you can remember everyone's names tomorrow. That is the trickiest part of new jobs for me. Hope it goes well!

I'm so happy for you! HIP HIP HURRAH! Employment is ever so sweet when you've been sweating finding a job to pay for the rent, food and vital stuff like internet access and the cell phone too! Good luck in your new company. Good luck on getting up early. That's my biggest problemo... I am not a morning person. I could say that loudly and over and over. So I get in by 9:30am and stay late... and they let me. But not when I started there almost 20 years ago. BeeGee the cat and I are typing this to you... GOOD LUCK!!!! & Happy St. Patrick's Day...next week.

Kudos! I'm so happy for you!

BTW, in French, there is an expression that means selling one's body : vendre mon cul. Litterally, it means selling my ass.

Once, I was out of work and jokingly saying, as you were, that I might have to resort to 'selling my ass'...

my mother told me I'd better sell it by the pound, that I'd make more money that way...

hardy har har! ;)

yay! congrats! good luck! i also found a job at random due to the internet: they saw my resume on monster and gave me a call asking me to interview for a job i never would have guessed i'm qualified for. almost a year later, i am pretty sure i am. now if i can just survive the grad program and add pretty initials to my name, i'll prove it to others, too.
