While the accomplishment of item number two on the list was all very worthwhile, it made the rest of my day somewhat less productive. I could have just let the sleeping cop lie, but lord, a girl does need her diversions. Even more than she needs her clean towels.
The accomplishment of the first item was also pretty noteworthy. When I moved to New York, I emptied my savings account. I also took out a loan and maxed out my nearly paid off Visa card and since then, it’s been a paycheck-to-paycheck existence. But yesterday, when a holiday bonus magically appeared in my checking account, I resisted all those urges I had to finally buy an iPod, and instead opened a new savings account.
My mother would be so proud.

I wish I could have done that with my bonus...I have all but spent mine...it burned a huge hole in my pocket...but everyone is getting great presents and I have treated me and my other half...
I wish my to-do lists were as fun as yours. Instead I get: do laundry, buy groceries, sweep floors, cook dinner.
Mine didn't take place at noon....does it still count?

Ah yes, the nooner...it doesn't work when you're back and forth from work to bed takes 30 minutes and your fiance has a set lunch time. But I will now ponder nooners past, like some bastardize Springstein/Meloncamp song.
Who needs to clean towels. There's plenty of brand new ones in the store just waiting to be picked up.
Show-off. Some of us have salad for lunch.
Nooner's are low in calories, good exersise, and better then a shrink. I have never missed a chance to skip lunch. what do they call 9am 3pm and 8pm in ny? I would like to put that on my to-do list.
Of which accomplishment, one wonders? Item One would be too obvious. If you're mother is proud of you pulling off Item 2 (so to speak), she's a woman I'd like to meet.
Nooners rule. Which, coincidentally, is why I love living 7 minutes from my office and six from the Husbands. Makes the workday so much less stressful when it's all said and done...
An accomplishment indeed. This is why I regret moving to the almost-suburbs. Although what I save in rent does keep my savings account in the black.
Jealous of both the nooner AND the holiday bonus!! (Pout!) I just figured out that it has been ... um, too long since I even had someone to kiss, under the mistletoe or otherwise, but I am not going to let that unfortunate fact mar my happiness for you!! :) Enjoy!!!
You're definitely an INSPIRATION. I opened a savings account, yet have contributed nothing to it. So, I'm being charged $3 to have an account with a ZERO balance. I will definitely be adding some duckets in the near future...Be blessed.
Right now, I'd settle for a six monther. The whole celebate getting to know myself without a relationship thing after the last one was such a stupid, stupid idea. I jinxed myself completely. That is all.

For guys like me, a "nooner" means a triple-dry martini, before going back to work. Ah well...what can I say--I'm old-fashioned.
I have to say that the last few days of your posts have put me in a totally warm fuzzy mood. I don't want to jinx you (I do believe you can do that) so I won't gush, but I am truly happy to see how happy you are right now :) Here's to the continuation of this very promising situation :)
